To Make Dark Stamens Dance by Amy Bilodeau

bouquet of black flowers

my heart-child cuts & cuts

a paper garden

to lie down in sweet lack

scentless heads adrift

in an ancient myth of wind

clap your hands in threes

& say you believe in petals

carved from dead trees   here

where belief is both soil & seed
