All Americans want is one shot on the jumbotron
that will elevate them like overtime
with no possible finish, and when it does,
that someone Instagrammed it
as an ordinary afternoon remembered
by Reyes filter. All we want is suburbs
of veneers — to appear gigantic over our
heroes on the field, and to appear
more gigantic even if we already are.
All we want is a metropolis of soccer parks
and golf courses, and once we lay that
and the Hyperloop to the city, we still want
more good news coming this way.
