Beside the Bed by Kimberly Becker

Easy to blame

it on fever

but the being

made of light

sat by her bed

brushed her arm

with limb of white

so that she would know

she would survive

Easy to blame

it on imagination

Easy to dismiss

vision born of desperation

But maybe you know what that’s like?

Maybe you’ve been in that bed?
