Nobody Dies They Say at Sunday School by Gale Acuff

even though folks do and it's a damn lie
they're telling that folks don't and lying is
a sin and for sin you get sent to Hell else
you believe in not only God but in
Jesus, too, and maybe the Holy Ghost
makes three, and I'm 10 and I'm going to
die myself one day, not that I want to
but I don't really know what I want they
tell me at Sunday School--and at home, too,
so I ask Mother and Father why they
don't come to church with me but they say Well,
we work hard and want to sleep late weekends
and I tell 'em Someday you'll sleep and sleep
forever, then they say Do not disturb.
